Selma

Today all the TY's went to vue cinema to watch a movie based on martin luther king jr's journey through selma to montgomery   Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. led a dangerous campaign to secure equal voting rights in the face of violent opposition. The epic march from Selma to Montgomery culminated in President Johnson signing the Voting Rights Act of 1965, one of the most significant victories for the civil rights movement. Director Ava DuVernay's "Selma" tells the story of how the revered leader and visionary Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr and his brothers and sisters in the movement prompted change that forever altered history.

when we arrived at the cinema we all ran to get popcorn and drinks etc. Im pretty sure we cleaned the place of all the popcorn.... so worth it! me and hannah shared a large popcorn and a drink 'my treat' and made our way into the film  screen. everyone was so into the movie, many people cried but we all enjoyed it! i didnt think i would as much and change my opinion on the whole martin luther king history but it really did. im really glad i went to see it and the whole day was a nice break from everything(not like ty is hard or anything) but still, it was really nice of Ms. McHale to bring us!! #
-Thank you
